CAVE LOKVARKA
The length of the cave is 1200 meters, with 900 meters opened to visitors.
The cave was discovered in 1912. From the year 1935., when electrification was introduced, and later when the iron stair construction was placed, it became increasingly important element of tourism in Lokve region. Because of extraordinary beauty, variety and wealth of cave decorations it was declared a monument of nature.
Today, it is one of the largest Croatian caves accessible to visitors. With expert guides visitors can tour four galleries, while the remaining parts have not been fully explored and represent a real challenge for speleologists and others eager for new discoveries and challenges. Cave temperature is a constant of 6.5 ° - 8 ° C and a visit during the summer months is very refreshing.
