Fort St. Mihovil is on a hill 70 meters above sea level in the old city. It was built between the XV. and XVII. century with white ashlar stone. Archaeological investigations have found the remains of Iron Age culture from prehistoric times, which proves that the Croats built a fort on the site of the former Illyrian checkpoint  fort. There are two entrances to the fortress, one is on the wall of the old cemetery, and another on the north side.
