
ST. VITUS - THE HANGING TIP OF THE ISLAND OF PAG
St. Vitus is the highest peak on the island of Pag (348 m) On it are the remains of the chapel of St.Vitus (1348.g.).
On the top there is a spectacular view of the many neighboring islands and most of the Northern Velebit National Park. (To climb to the St. Vitus of commonly used road from the big bend on the main road above Kolan, through the valley of Kolan.)
Climb the St. Vitus – KOLAN - Vid – 1 h 15 min
From Kolan, on the road Pag - Novalja, go to the southern entrance to the latter road and continue to Pag few hundred meters to a sharp bend to the right, "serpentine".
From here the road heads towards juguprateći upper part of the valley of Kolan its eastern edge. That way to go until it ends and continue along the trail in the same direction to where this turns right towards the west, a distance of ten meters breaking the upper part of the field.
Leads to the "door",The distance between the dry stone wall fenced wooden barrier to prevent the movement of sheep from one side to the other. Behind the "door", follow the path further south through the area Dugac. Get to the end of drywall fenced plot field "playpen" and continue in the same direction for another hundred meters through the barren land dovećeg stone block on the right side of the track where the crossroads.
The markings for the St. Vitus the path continues to the left uphill to the east, entitled to the south leads to marked trails Simuni, and right up the hill to the west unmarked trails also to Simon.
Once you climb the trail to the east and to the very early karst barrens exceed the, and above the larger pond by the side of the road to complete the final climb with head top.
At the top of the ruined church of St. Vitus, triangulation label and box to register and the stamp next. At the top there are traces of ancient Illyrians - Gradac.
