CATHEDRAL OF ST. MARK, KORCULA
Cathedral of St.. Mark the center of religious life and the most beautiful Gothic Renaissance monument in the old town of Korcula.
It was built by Dubrovnik and two Italian masters, and most local builders through 14, 15 and 16 The largest among them St. Mark Andrijic that in this building left his masterpieces: the upper part of the tower and ciborium over the main altar in the center aisle dedicated to St. Mark patron of Korcula. Romanesque and Gothic portal is the work of Italian master Bonino from Milan. South aisle was dedicated to St.. James, North St. John, until it was annexed in the votive chapel of St. Deadline. The altar in the cathedral has many paintings by Jacopo Tintoretto, starting from other Italian and Italian painters.
