Hotel Esplanade, Zagreb's most prestigious hotel, built in 1925. with the aim of providing superior accommodations and service passengers from the Orient Express, which traveled on the line Paris - Istanbul. 
List of famous guests included Josephine Baker, Charles Lindbergh, Gilbert Bécaud, Leonid Brezhnev and many others. 
After more than a year of complete reconstruction, 18th May 2004. The hotel opened its doors under the name - "The Regent Esplanade Zagreb". Today the hotel offers 209 spacious and luxurious rooms and suites and provides many opportunities for the organization of conferences, banquets and other events. The hotel's restaurant "Zinfandel's" offers an imaginative mix of Mediterranean, Oriental and Californian cuisine.
