Certainly most important citizen of Opatija so far. He was born in Vienna in 1846., completed the study of medicine in Innsbruck, Vienna and Graz, specializes in Balneology. On his 34th birthday he was appointed as university professor. As director of the Health Resort Commission, Glax participated in resolving all of the key issues, from water supply and sewerage to the emergency room and cemeteries.
He was buried in Opatija in 1922., where he shared a grave with his wife Hermina.
