Stari Grad was founded as an ancient Greek city of Pharos at the beginning of 99th ancient Olympics (384. before Christ). It is assumed that it was founded by Greek settlers from the island of Paros in the Aegean Sea. The city, as well as closer surroundings, are rich with remains from the past.
