Izidor Popijač was born on 2 January 1947th in Bednja in the hamlet POPIJAČ. Žigin talent and sense of modeling at an early age are still in elementary school, his teachers noticed. Upon graduation he went, "her fortune" to Slovenia Ptuj and teaches photographic craft. Although after graduation photos 1966th Ljubljana three years trying to be practical life, working only in a spare moment, the result was bankruptcy. Soon his father died, leaving the country to help now elderly mother. This event was a milestone in Žiginu life. Realizes that he was not born to photographer although in this field showed an innate creativity and is dedicated to artistic work. Finds two original materials - clay and black oak (Quercus robur fosillicus Bedniensis), which occurs regulation Bednja River. And so begins his extremely difficult and burdensome way. Fully convinced that he was born to be taught sculptor, art, and simultaneously is being misunderstood by the local community. But he does not flinch knowing that thorny path.
He lives with his family in the newly old school Bednja. Then a couple of years working in Ivanec where a sculptural school. Now living and working in the RISVIC Kumrovec and has his own studio and gallery.
