WATER DOOR IN OSIJEK

Through Porta Aquatica we pass over a wooden bridge that is a replica, across the moat which was filled with water and surrounded the fort.

By the 1715. during construction of the fortress bastions were  built on the east, south and west. As part of these works so called Water doors - Port Aquatica were completed. Water Gate went to the river Drava (preserved to this day along with the water-tower).
