GALLERY OF FINE ARTS, OSIJEK

Gallery of Fine Arts is a museum institution which deals with collection, preservation, study and presentation of the artistic heritage ranging from the Baroque to the recent creation. The gallery's holdings divided into several collections which consists of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and medals to 18, 19 and 20 century.

The foundation of the Museum's collection consists of works, many of which have a capital importance for the Croatian art heritage since the mid-18th century to the present, and for which the Osijek Gallery as a museum establishment of a regional center, and the most famous. This is primarily related to the works of foreign masters of the late Baroque, Classicism and Romanticism, then the first-generation Croatian landscape painter and portraitist mid-19th century and works from the turn of the 20th Century and its first half, when he founded Croatian modern painting. Furthermore, there are the classics Croatian neomodernizma and contemporary art, so far without the desired range, but no doubt with reliable quality.

The most extensive and most valuable part of the Museum's collection consists of a collection of images. It is a collection of images Art Gallery is unique in Croatia by the number and value of artworks that were owned by the Slavonian noble families from the 18th and 19 century. These acts constitute a very valuable part of the national cultural heritage, which enters in the central European body.
In addition, the Gallery has represented the widest range of artists from Osijek, mostly the first half of the 20th century, and the greatest part of their art work.

Exhibition program, as the most common form of action Gallery of Fine Arts, has its strongholds in the presentation of Artists of the city and region, national heritage, and fostering international cooperation, especially with neighboring countries and abroad, in the broadest sense.
