The objective of this project is to encourage competitive sheep that are based on private property associated with trade, manufacturing and tourism. This is an eco-lamb production on the farm of Agricultural Cooperatives of Cres, which is awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture and the first sign of ecological products for lamb meat in Croatia. This is a special, extensive sheep farming, which is kept only on the island of Cres, which means that the free-grazing sheep throughout the year, received a positive assessment of experts.
Conditions for the production of eco lamb in Cres are extremely favorable for karst areas of the island are excellent natural basis for the development of sheep. The most important part of this basis constitute a rocky pastures that are not sufficiently exploited for decades and which are not polluted by agrochemicals, which is one of the basic requirements of organic production.
