Mato Lovrak, still the most popular children's writer in Croatia from Veliki Grđevac.
Mato Lovrak (Veliki Grđevac near Bjelovar, March 8, 1899th - Zagreb, 14 March 1974.), Croatian children's writer.
He graduated from the Training School and served in many places. He also wrote short stories, but novels gained popularity special theme related to childhood. Builds an interesting plot with elements of adventure, but also didactic accents. Extremely prolific author of some thirty books, Lovrak several decades entertaining and educating young readers who witnessed the expression of the time, and is characterized by imagination and humor. His works have been translated into many languages. In his honor, in his native Veliki Grđevac, every year are held "Lovrak Days of culture" where the prize Mato Lovrak is awarded.
