
THE JESUIT CASTLE IN KUTJEVO
Castle built by the Jesuits in the period of the 1704th until 1735.
Kutjevo is remembered and recognized for exemplary once famed estate and Kutjevo wine which tradition of medieval and even Roman times since Požega "golden valley" (Vallis Aurea) valued as beautiful and fertile landscape. Located in the northeast "corner" Požeška valley, halfway between Požega and Našice, southern slopes Krndija and Papuk squeezed in the narrow valley of the river Kutjevčanke, Kutjevo records more than seven and a half centuries of the past associated with feudal psjed. Kutjevo is now relatively small size of the place in which they were Jesuits in the 18th century pleading to declare the city, but it has never failed to develop more than a marketplace. In medieval writings usually comes under the name Gotho, rarely Kothoa.
