He was born in the United Pisanica near Bjelovar. His family 1925th moved to Zagreb, where he attended elementary and high school. He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts. Professors were his and Peter Dobrovic Ljubo Babic. His first solo exhibition was in 1935. in Zagreb. Since 1941. participates in the second. World War II, in 1943. be involved in the resistance against the fascists. A lot of traveling overseas, especially France, USA and Italy. His work has received international acclaim. He has 150 solo and 300 group exhibitions throughout the world. His works are present in most of excellent private and public collections throughout the world. He worked in theater and set design, murals and mosaics. He was a member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (CASA) and the Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO). Mostly lived in Zagreb and Vrsar. He was named an honorary citizen of the town of Bjelovar. He died in Zagreb.
